What does the MC desperately want?
Middle
Two to three unsuccessful attempts by MC to solve problem.
Increasing tension with each attempt.
Perhaps the problem gets worse.
Perhaps there is another bigger problem which arises.
Ending
The problem is solved by MC.
MC somehow changes, learns something, becomes a better person, achieves the thing they desperately wanted (or realize they don't desperately want it, after all).
