Set the Scene

Where does your story take place?
Close your eyes and imagine it. Draw it if you like.

Stand in the middle of your setting.

What do you see? What colours? Textures?

What sounds can you hear? Crows? Fridge humming? Wind?

What can you smell? Farm animals? Dinner cooking? Roses? Pine trees?

What can you taste? Icy snow flakes? Salt air?

What do things feel like to touch? Velvety? Rough? Feather-like? Burning hot? Wet?

How does the setting look at different times of day? Sunrise? Midday? Twilight?

Does something happen to change the appearance of the setting?
How does it change?
